This section is dedicated to some highlights of my projects involving custom children style illustrations for different events and non-profits. These include magazines, posters, and social design.
Realities For Children is a non-profit in Denver, CO. Their mission is to bring awarness and support to children in the local foster care system with events, groups, and other programs. This magazine serves as a newsletter twice a year and is circulated throughout the city. This issue they wanted a new design, so I illustrated fun new space characters for them, to keep the imagination and playfulness they want for the kids they support.
Fort Worth Hope Center is a non-profit that helps people create a better life of their own through job training, GED programs, and many other resources. One of the programs we wanted to expand for them was the bakery training. We created a sub-brand for them and packaging so the trainees could bake cookies to be sold in local businesses to support the center.
We honed in on the idea that the center acts as a sort of time machine, giving people oppurtunites that they missed out on in their past. From there, we created packaging with whimsical characters from different eras interacting in time machine related scenes. The playful design would appeal to people wanting to donate. The package stands out with the elaborate texture it creates, but off set by the simple black and white. The design won two ADDY awards for illustration and packaging in Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas.
This is a project I designed for a non-profit in the area. They hold an annual parade of singing and dancing to thank their donors. They wanted a fun whimsical poster to reflect the organization. I gave them a custom illustration with fun animal characters, music notes, and woodland features, all in a guitar. The client was thrilled and loved everything about it. 2019's poster can be seen below. 2020 looked a bit different with custom masks, social media posts, and website landing page images.
